WEB DESIGN: FURTHER AESTHETIC RESEARCH & INSPIRATION

Whilst researching web layout further, I came across several more websites which fit the aesthetic at this point in tim which I would like to achieve -

Simple
Black and White
Block Imagery
Shape
Side bars and navigation
White Space
Colour
Grid and Layout
Minimal
Modern
Typographic - Either shown or when image rollover/clicked etc
Smart
Clean
Easy to navigate around and understand

Strong grid structure. Online graphic design blog, one of my favourites I follow on a daily basis.
The images act as rollovers to notes, details and links. The navigation is placed on the top left hand corner.

Design portfolio - links shown at the top - black to grey rollovers.
The imagery is shown in a much more simplistic manner than shown above. Visually pleasing and modern.

I have always liked Mash Creative's simple website. It's so easy to navigate around, and it also features social networking links. The images act as rollovers with info on the work shown, client, etc.

Blog style website, continuous scroll, with advertisements shown to the right. Search bar and social networking links, shown alongside navigation and header at the top. Easy to navigate around. Below the main article image, a blog article and several more photos follow, adding context and a typographic element to the website.

Design blog, where by the work shown scrolls continuously, however the three lines shown on the left, release a sidebar with specific design categories. Smart, sleek and easy to navigate around. Really well designed aesthetically.
