FURTHER RESTAURANT MENUS AND BRANDING

Further secondary research into restaurant branding, with emphasis on menus and products/packaging and typography.

Restaurant and Bar, 1913.

Various logos for Restaurant and bar 1913. I really like the simplicity of the logos and how effective they are with the use of letterpress or woodblock type is, using a monochrome theme.

Zito's Sandwich Shop Menu & Branding:

I love the type chosen for the title, and it's hand rendered 3D style. Feels traditional with a modern touch. The menu is well structured and follows a consistent layout and theme, with use of various bold sans serif fonts/variances. I feel as though the shop/cafe would be of American/Italian style due to the name chosen for the brand, and the laid back design.

Type based! No imagery or illustrations.

Salt Box Demo:

Salt Box restaurant branding | designed by Elyse Taylor of Wander + Find.

The branding for Salt Box is very clean, structured and professional, leaving a modern and minimal finish, using mainly type, with the odd illustration. Branding has also been applied to various products and glassware for example, which can also be seen below.

Modern and bold branding for 'Chef's' restaurant. Strong brand identity and design, using only one colour, black and the stock. Branding applied to other items such as drinks mats etc.

Branding & Interiors (below):

A very eclectic restaurant, with several different hand rendered typefaces, as well as digital type. Maybe too colourful, with too many fonts, however I understand the quirky, hipster, artisanal cafe/restaurant which is being aimed for through the branding and interiors.

Aesthetically pleasing design, however too much going off for my personal liking.

Table N1 - Branding and Menu:

Simple, natural and rural branding. Looks and gives an eco-friendly feeling through the stock choices, and use of woodblock and letterpress print opposed to using digital printing. Really like the addition of the order pad with the same logo stamped on each page!

I really like the playfulness and concept behind this menu, especially with its interactiveness.

Santa Cruz Restaurant Branding, by Anagrama

I love the type used; the hand rendered element makes the Santa Cruz theme so much more predominant through the typeface, and bold, bright colours. Not only applied to promotional products, but also packaging for items, take away cups and glassware.
